The interior is adorned with trappings also like sports chrome trim, aluminum pedals and a three-spoke steering wheel.

2014 Mitsubishi Outlander

2014 Mitsubishi Outlander: comes with changes and upgrades to the exterior and interior design of the machine is also updated. The third generation of Mitsubishi’s SUV has a more slender dimensions than its predecessor. 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander is not only 200 pounds lighter than 2014 Ford Atlas F-150 but also stronger than 2013 Lotus Esprit, thanks to the reduction in the dimensions of the sector and the use of body material.

2014 Mitsubishi Outlander comes with the design of a 7-passenger SUV evolutionary, dashing and futuristic. This is because in the cabin, plus seats that can accommodate seven passengers. Seen in the grille design that integrates with the front, a stout body lines and character and a modern rear lights. There is also an optional feature, which includes next-gen navigation system or Rockford Fosgate stereo system.

2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Review

2013 Mitsubishi Outlander has long been important in the SUV segment, represented by the third generation Mitsubishi Outlander improved greatly. Visually, the new Outlander now looks elegant, the front end has given way to grim new Mitsubishi design, and also in the interior of the new Outlander now has much higher quality and can accommodate up to seven people.

Mitsubishi Outlander 2013

With 150 horsepower diesel in the top equipment line Instyle elected. Also on board, among other ABS, ESP, seven airbags, four-wheel drive, 18 "alloy wheels, keyless entry and start system, a power liftgate, a 2-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, leather seats with heated front seats, xenon lights" Wide are vision " ,. a parking aid rear including rear-view camera, a navigation system, a Rockford-Fosgate sound system with 710 watts and 9 speakers, rain and light sensor, and much more

With your first look at the interior, you realize that the new Outlander is running much higher quality than its predecessor. The modern design of the instrument, the tidy center console and a good choice of material featuring the Outlander. There are also many practical files, simplifying everyday motorists life.

All functions are easy to use and you can find your way from the start. We also find an ideal seating position very quickly, only the gear knob is a bit too far back attached - at least for people with longer arms.

Due to the high development of the Outlander offers itself in the rear enough head and knee room, only the third row is suitable only for children or very small adults and articulated. The seats of the third Series are easy to fold up and disappear again with a single action just in the trunk floor. Who takes advantage of all seven seats, still has a luggage capacity of 128 liters available with five seats to get to 477 liters, and who is only two way you can look forward when needed on a volume of 1,022 liters.

Mitsubishi Outlander 2013 interior

Very eccentric and the leather seats are comfortable, which can be a self-longer trips complete without back pain. The interior of the new Outlander can thus already be described as a great success, there remains the question to clarify how it looks with the performance and efficiency of the 465.5 cm-long SUV.

Under the hood, the proven 2.2-liter diesel engine with an output of 150 hp werkt (110 kW). Its maximum torque of 380 Nm delivers the powerful diesel from 1750 to 2500 rev / min. To start the diesel engine works quite grumpy, but gives equal the enormous thrust, which helps the Outlander to crisp performance. The sprint from 0 to 100 km / h around 1.6 ton SUV completed in 9.7 seconds, top speed is 200 km / h Despite 27 hp less power than its predecessor, the new Outlander is thus equal to 0.1 seconds and accelerates even faster.

The manual 6-speed gearbox is very harmoniously balanced and designed for maximum efficiency. By Eco button on the dashboard, the Outlander is ever the ideal saving champions. If you press the Eco button, you must lodge with the power delivery but found no difference, but then it rides for a car of this class very sparingly. Although we did not come to the factory promised 5.4 liters per 100 kilometers, with an average consumption of 6.3 liters, the Outlander can still be described as very poor.

Mitsubishi Outlander 2013

Especially, as you will need not have to compromise on driving pleasure. The Outlander has a lot of power in every situation, even when accelerating after a construction site at the end of the highway does not have to turn back, to regain the allowable highway speeds.

The engine performs and his work Wore very quiet, only the road noise at high speeds are a little louder. Here you realize that the Outlander, especially for the U.S. market was tailored, because up to 110 km / h, it is completely silent, only then will the rolling noise louder.

The very comfortable design of the chassis and suspension is also attributable to the U.S. Generally back, but perfectly fits the Outlander. Thanks to the automatic all-wheel drive the big SUV is in fact still very good on the road and also enables high cornering speeds, without the passengers are scared should have known that the car flips.

Mitsubishi Outlander 2013

All-wheel drive is standard in Eco mode, where only two wheels are driven and then if necessary the additional wheels are switched in order optimum grip added. By pressing a button you can also switch to permanent all-wheel drive or even permanent drive with increased power flow to the rear axle.

So the Outlander then also makes off-road looks good and it brings its occupants safely to the most remote ski lodge. The very light, but very direct steering also fits very well with the consistent overall picture of the Outlanders.

With the third-generation Mitsubishi Outlander returned back to the old virtues and offers a very sophisticated and high-quality SUV. The top equipment and good space to make the Outlander an ideal family car and long distance vehicle. Very well done is the 2.2 liter diesel engine, which offers a lot of power in combination with a low consumption.

2012 Mitsubishi I MiEV

For the 2012 model year Mitsubishi has upgraded its electric compact car i-MiEV and reduced the price. Our test shows how everyday use of the i-MiEV.

2012 Mitsubishi I-MiEV

With the Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric car was one of the pioneers of today and earlier in the trade as other manufacturers. The 347 cm long compact car designed it from scratch as an electric car, which has the advantage that the batteries are housed under the floor, so the trunk does not require sacrificing.

For the 2012 model year Mitsubishis i-MiEV has been upgraded with modern materials and strong, and seat covers provided in the interior. But even if the equipment has changed a lot.

Thus, heated front seats, a stereo radio with CD player and USB port, ABS, ASC, TC, 6 airbags, a radio remote control to preset the air conditioner, the heater and defroster function via timer, and a display of battery SOC production equipment.

In addition, the 2012 model over a virtual warning that will warn up to a speed of 35 km / h pedestrians and cyclists at the approach of otherwise silent car.

Its funny that you would like to limit it to one side, the noise from cars by any means, is a car but then again without any noise on the road, it is compelled by law to be loud again.

After all these bare numbers we are interested in how to get an electric car from Mitsubishi through the day. The interior is very nice and already has four people. While offered in height on all four seats lots of headroom, it is for the feet on all four seats relatively close. Here apparently the Japanese was taken as a guide, are large Grown in the small cramped little i-MiEV on the road.

This is the boot volume of 235 liters of the small car class failed sufficiently large and can be extended if necessary by folding down the rear seats up to 860 liters.
2012 Mitsubishi I-MiEV

To the great surprise is the operator of the i-MiEV simple and absolutely without any electric-specific peculiarity. The speed is displayed digitally, and instead of a tachometer you have an Eco-indicator, which informs about the current flow of energy. A fuel gauge and a complete range indicated by the simple and clearly laid-out speedometer.

After turning the ignition key you will hear a beep tone that signals in combination with a green light signal a willingness to pull out that you can. The selector lever has two or more options for the driver. In addition to "P" for parking, "R" for return, "N" for neutral and "D" for Drive are still additional positions "B" for brake and "C" for Comfort for election.

In "D" is the i-MiEV is in normal driving mode and provides the full power available. When approaching a traffic light or at high speed on the road a roundabout, one does well to place the selector lever to position "B", since the system directly through the braking, the energy generated in the battery and the range of Sun can be increased. The "C" mode is designed for pleasure cruises on motorways and country roads, where you can roll with less power and therefore less demand for electricity there.

The advantage of electric cars is that the maximum torque - in the case of the mitsubishi i-MiEV is the 180 Nm - right at the start is available. One comes with an enormous amount of power from the same spot, and up to 50 km / h there is little in the Mitsubishi forward really fast.

If you want to speed up then keep it afloat, you realize that the 66 hp (49 kW) electric motor has been some trouble with some 1.1 ton compact car.
2012 Mitsubishi I-MiEV
The ride is fun for the mitsubishi i-MiEV written large: with a very low center of gravity of the little Mitsubishi is very good on the road. The steering is somewhat vague, but the road situation perfectly, even in brisk cornering.

Up to 130 km / h you may be traveling with the i-MiEV, the solid pressure on the accelerator (should actually more power pedal used in this case) does of course also reach, how to quickly read in the space provided for display.

According to the work of i-MiEV coming up to 150 km / h over a distance before the energy runs out of 16 kWh battery strong. In practice, this range can cope well only at very leisurely trip, with warm temperatures and without radio and air conditioning. In practice, we have a full battery, use the air conditioner and the enjoyment of the radio on a route with highways, country roads and city share had around 80 miles away.
2012 Mitsubishi I-MiEV

Then the 2012 mitsubishi i-MiEV has again for up to 8 hours to the outlet so that the battery is fully charged. With the "Quick Charger" can lead to a correspondingly high 80% of energy after 30 minutes.

If you do not return long distance sets and can do without spontaneity, is the Mitsubishi i-MiEV but an absolutely suitable for everyday use with a great road-holding and good facilities. In addition, it is absolutely easy to operate and any necessary conversion from one powered with gasoline or diesel engine car. Most beautiful is that you have absolutely no vibration and is extremely quiet road.

2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Hybrid

First Recharge hybrid four-wheel drive
The concept of plug-in hybrid cars, plug-in hybrid called draws circles. It is now clear: Mitsubishi brings the new Outlander in 2013 with the environmentally-friendly drive on the market.

Mitsubishi wants to bring on several shows already shown a prototype plug-in hybrid version of the Outlander during the year 2013 on the market. At the Paris Motor Show 2012 (27 September to 14 October) celebrates the world premiere production version. The Outlander plug-in hybrid EV (PHEV) is based on the new-generation Outlander, which is sold from autumn 2012. The plug-in hybrid drive has been involved from the outset in the development platform of the new Mitsubishi Outlander.

mitsubishi outlander hybrid

Three engines
The Mitsubishi Outlander is the first PHEV plug-in hybrid production car with permanent four-wheel drive. The system consists of an electric motor at the front and rear axle and a gasoline engine. The latter produces electrical energy via a generator, but temporary help directly with the drive. The concept provides for three modes. In EV mode, the SUV has a four-wheel drive by two electric motors. In serial mode, the propulsion arises same way, but here also operates the internal combustion engine as a supplier of electrical energy. In parallel mode, finally, there is also an electric four-wheel drive on the two electric motors, which is headed but the engine at higher speeds boost.

50 kilometers electrically clean?
The scope Mitsubishi says that the plug-in system allows more than 800 kilometers. For the pure electric range and the nature of the batteries is silent you off. Shown at the Geneva Motor Show study was to create 50 km in pure electric mode. In CO2 emissions, the Japanese seek out a target of less than 50 grams per kilometer. It should be noted that consumption depends greatly on the type of use - after all, is burned with all-electric driving at all out of gas.

2015 Mitsubishi Outlander GT S AWC Review Bigger Or Cheaper Would Be Better

2015 Mitsubishi Outlander GT S-AWC
Priced at $40,538, the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander GT I drove around for a week in December was disturbingly overpriced.

In Canada, Outlanders start at $27,448. But the GT S-AWC starts at $37,648 with all-wheel-drive, a 6-speed automatic transmission, and a V6 engine in place of the 4-cylinder/CVT combo. A $2730 navigation package and $160 pearlescent paint boost the as-tested price beyond $40,000.

THE GOOD
• Decent ride/handling mix

• Nicely weighted steering
• Impressive Rockford Fosgate
• Available third row
• Only one in the parking lot
THE BAD
• Such tiny buttons
• Interior feels ancient
• $40K+?
• Third row is tight, cramps cargo
• LDW, FCW, but no BSM?

The issue isn’t the manner in which the Outlander’s MSRP compares to the price of other similarly sized two-row utility vehicles. Rather, the problem as I see it is Mitsubishis desire to charge the kind of money other automakers are charging for genuine three-row family crossovers.

• Historical Monthly & Yearly Mitsubishi Outlander Sales Figures
• 2014 Nissan Rogue SL Driven Review

Granted, the Outlander isn’t deserving of criticism because it fails so miserably in any one facet. In fact, the Outlander is simply mediocre in every way. It therefore quickly becomes forgettable, not worthy of mention for any reason other than the combination of tidy exterior dimensions with seven-passenger seating.

Perhaps we got off to a rough start, the Mitsubishi Canada-supplied Outlander and I. Although I’ve read multiple accounts from other publications describing the fits-all-sizes comfort of the Outlander’s driver’s seat, I spent a week failing to find the proper setup for my lanky frame. It’s a personal concern, one which may not apply to your body type, but a seat cushion lacking length and a limited amount of overall adjustment led me to a state of constant discontent.

Second row space is acceptable, however, and access into the third row isn’t as awkward as I expected in a vehicle that’s only five inches longer than a Ford Escape. Yet once back there, well, who goes back there? Who in my life is deserving of that kind of punishment? There’s a decent amount of space for a load of groceries behind the third row (it’s difficult to expect more from most three-row crossovers regardless of size), so Mitsubishi could shove the seat back a smidge.

As it stands, this isn’t so much a third row for emergencies as it is a third row for emergencies in which you literally take prisoners. The same can’t be said for the third row in the Dodge Durango, which can be had for less money.

Regardless of the row you inhabit, the overall sensation delivered by the 183-inch-long Outlander’s interior does not pertain to smallness or largeness but to cheapness. This feels like 2007-grade material quality. Although all of the third-generation Outlander’s body parts are different from the second-gen’s, at its core this feels like a lighter, updated version of a vehicle which debuted in second-gen form for MY2007.

Interior controls are simple enough, but the buttons surrounding the Rockford Fosgate radio unit are tiny and chintzy.

The cabin isn’t what you’d call loud, nor is it quiet. One unfortunate caress of the headliner will lead you to believe Mitsubishi sourced the fabric from the late 80s. There are hard, scuffable plastics everywhere you look and touch. This is not the interior of a Toyota Highlander, which can be had for less money.

In motion, the Outlander does redeem itself somewhat. The electrically assisted power steering is nicely weighted and promptly responsive. Ride quality isn’t reflective of the Outlander’s 105.1-inch wheelbase as the comfort-minded suspension and stiff structure don’t allow particularly harsh impacts to transfer to the Outlander’s occupants.

There’s even an initial sense of discreet sportiness, although the Outlander doesn’t possess the limits of the Mazda CX-5, for instance. Instead, when pushed only slightly, the Outlander is more composed than many of the most dynamic small crossovers, but it falls apart more quickly if you decide to drive more enthusiastically than most small crossover owners would.

Mitsubishi’s all-wheel-drive technology features special lock, snow, and eco modes. Called S-AWC for Super All-Wheel Control, the Outlander’s all-wheel-drive system is a $2000 option on the ES; standard on the SE and GT. Although the Outlander’s 6-speed automatic is a willing partner, the naturally-aspirated 3.0L V6 (227 horsepower at a lofty 6250 rpm, 215 lb-ft of torque at 3750 rpm) with which it’s paired doesn’t have what it takes to match turbo four-cylinder powerplants, lacks all manner of low-end punch, and becomes coarse and unruly at higher rpm. By comparison, the 3.3L V6 in Hyundai’s three-row Santa Fe, which can be had for less money, feels like all-American muscle.

I wouldn’t bother to draw attention to much larger competition like the Durango (201 inches long), Highlander (191), or Santa Fe (193) if the Outlander lived up to its window sticker, its spec sheet, and its options list.
2015 Mitsubishi Outlander GT dashboard
But at this price? For a vehicle of this size? The sunroof is small; not remotely panoramic. The lane departure warning system tended to beep when no beep was necessary and failed to beep when it should have. (Bizarrely, the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander GT S-AWC Touring includes LDW, forward collision mitigation, and adaptive cruise control, but no blind spot monitoring.) In complete contradiction to its intended purpose, Mitsubishi’s keyless go – they call it FAST-key – required me to remove the key from my pocket almost every time I tried to get in the Outlander. A third row this snug is not a selling feature. A V6 engine could be a key selling feature, but not when it’s the second-least powerful V6 engine on the market today. (Lexus’s 2.5L in the IS250 makes just 204 horsepower.) The Outlander’s 227-horsepower V6 drinks premium fuel at a rate of a 11L/100km, just like the 340-horsepower Porsche Macan S in which we averaged 11.2L/100km. The Porsche can’t be had for less money.

• 2014 Kia Sorento SX Driven Review
• 2013 Dodge Journey R/T Rallye Driven Review

If you can find your local Mitsubishi dealer, you’ll discover that the Outlander won’t be the slowest or the thirstiest SUV. It won’t be the smallest, nor will it be the largest. The Outlander isn’t the most overindulgent, nor is it the most under-equipped. It’s not the prettiest, nor is it the ugliest. It’s not fun to drive like some small crossovers, but it’s not annoying like some others. As a result of its failure to do any one thing particularly well, the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander GT S-AWC is thoroughly underwhelming. Im not inclined to call it a bad vehicle – the Outlander is average in too many ways to earn such a label. Its price, however, is not average. For less money, you can do better.

Perhaps we shouldn’t expect modern results without modern kit underhood. And perhaps we shouldn’t be charged modern prices for outdated vehicles. So say the tens of thousands of small crossover buyers who reject the Outlander each month. For every Outlander sold in Canada over the first ten months of 2014, its three most direct three-row competitors – Rogue, Sorento, Journey – have generated 13 sales. But can Mitsubishi do better? You bet they can, and a plug-in hybrid version of the Outlander is coming in the near future. If nothing else, that level of technology will be something that sets the Outlander apart.
