2013 Lamborghini Aventador
2013 Lamborghini Aventador: The 2013 Aventador is now equipped with a stop-start system with supercaps for energy storage and cylinder deactivation under partial load. Lamborghini says their stop-start system is extremely fast, so you wont lose time in case a drag race between stop lights comes along. It will take around 180 milliseconds to get the full power of the V12 engine from a stop. Lambos new system is around 3 kg lighter than similar systems form other manufacturers.
The 2013 Lamborghini Aventadors Cylinder Deactivation System (CDS) deactivates one cylinder bank at speeds of less than 135 km/h, which transforms the engine in an inline 6-cylinder unit. However, as soon as you press the gas pedal, the engine turns back into a V12. These two systems help reduce the 2013 Aventadors fuel consumption on average by up to 7% to 16 liters/100km. Lamborghini says that at speeds of 130 km/h (the European highway speed limit) the new Aventador (2013) is 20% more fuel effective. The CO2 emissions of the 2013 Aventador drop from 398 g/km to 370 g/km.
