2009 Hyundai Genesis V8

HYUNDAI GENESIS V8

After the unveiling at the Detroit Auto Show Hyundai Genesis, a large luxury sedan that will serve as flagship to the manufacturer, the kiosk has released little by little, to expose a second face of Genesis.

In addition to the flagship vehicle that sat on a stage in the middle of the Hyundai stand, another copy of the Genesis was one of the other vehicles in the range. Grille was different, though similar in shape. She wore the emblem of the company on a dark patterned honeycomb while the other, stripped of the logo, displayed large chrome bars. During the presentation, company officials never mentioned this fact.

The Genesis sedan is based on an architecture-powered, unlike other cars of the family, adopting front-wheel drive. It will also be offered with the first eight-cylinder engine from Hyundai, a 4.6-liter V8 mated to a six-speed automatic Shiftronic type which generates an output of 375 horsepower and a torque of 333 lb-ft - more as major players in the segment of luxury cars such as Audi A8, BMW 750i and Infiniti M45. Two V6 engines - 3.3 L and 3.8 L - will also be in the catalog.
The manufacturer has high expectations for his flagship since, in addition to its power above that of the great names in the industry, Hyundai has equipped the features and technologies that compete with sedans prices higher.

"The Genesis will rival cars like the Chrysler 300 and Pontiac G8, our benchmarks in engineering were the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Infiniti M and Lexus GS," said Vice President development and product planning for Hyundai Motor America at the unveiling of the car in Detroit.

2009 Hyundai Genesis sedan will go on sale this summer. A coupe based on the same platform and powered by a V8 engine will follow next year.
