Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been given an official release date for 15 December, 2017..
Star Wars official website has also revealed a new creature called Porgs that will debut in The Last Jedi. These creatures are compared to Puffins and apparently live on the island that Luke and Rey currently occupy. They are apparently the creation of director Rian Johnson and were added to the film via a mix of practical effects and CG.
Members of the cast appeared at the D23 Expo in July to tease the movie, including the release of some brand new posters.
Episode 9, the final film in the sequels trilogy, is set to be released in May 2019.
